| About The Author
Nargis Firdous was born in Pakistan and partly educated in Pakistan
and then at University of London and at Canterbury, University of Kent.
She pursued her career working in Psychiatric Hospitals in the National
Health Service and has extensive experience in managing Psychiatric
Intensive Care Units. During her years in the NHS she experienced Racial
Discrimination which involved management at the top level at the Maudsley
Hospital, Denmark Hill, London, SE5.
She took her case to the Industrial Tribunal under the Race Relations
Act and won her case.It was highly pubicised and later she was inundated
with requests to give full details of her case/experience.
This encouraged her to write this book which is currently being used
by University students studying management, student nurses and NHS
managers.
