The Book

It is a well known fact that discrimination exists almost in every institution and it takes different forms. It could relate to one’s age, sex, colour or race and can be direct or indirect. In a court of law it would be extremely difficult to prove racial discrimination. As I was told by my lawyer, when I myself took a case under the Race Relations Act, it was easy to prove that I had been unfairly / unequally treated, harassed, victimized and unfairly dismissed etc, but how could I prove that all that was due to my colour or race?

The case was unique in itself. I very much doubt that one will come across a similar case again. It was a case of a systematic and well planned persecution. It involved management at the top level and, therefore, it was extremely difficult to prove that racism was taking place.

While writing this book I have re-lived the experience and realized that I must have been really strong to have survived these years of psychological torture.

It should not have happened in the first place. But it did happen and, as this case was highly publicized, I was inundated with requests to give full details of my experience. After two years the interest to know the whole story is still strong.
